Alidost
Sebuah percakapan untuk saudari-saudari muslimku:
"Aku sangat lelah"
"Lelah kenapa?"
"Orang-orang it menghakimiku."
"Siapa yang mengakimimu?"
"salah satunya perempuan itu, tiap kali aku duduk dengannya, dia selalu membicarakan masalah hijab."
"Oh, hijab and musik! topik utama!"
"Yeah! Aku mendengarkan musik tanpa hijab... haha!"
"Mungkin dia hanya menasehatimu."
"Aku tidak butuh nasehatnya. Aku tau agama. Apakah tidak bisa dia memikirkan urusannya sendiri?"
"Sepertinya kamu salah paham. Dia hanya ingin berbuat baik."
"Jangan perdulikan urusanku, itulah perbuatan yang baik"
"Tetapi itu adalah tugasnya untuk memperingatkanmu untuk melakukan hal yang baik."
"Percayalah padaku. Itu bukanlah peringatan. Dan apa maksudmu dengan 'hal yang baik'?"
"Hmm, baiklah. Memakai jilbab, itulah hal yang baik."
"Siapa yang bilang?"
"Al-Qur'an yang mengatakannya, benar kan?"
Lalu apa pengertian kebebasan bagimu?"
"Kebebasan adalah melakukan apapun yang kamu inginkan."
"Bukan.
Berikan aku penjelasan!"
"Tunggu, biar kuselesaikan dulu, aku bilang......"
"Bilang apa? Apakah kamu pikir lelaki mengendalian wanita dengan jilbab?"
"Ya."
"Spesifiknya bagiman?"
"Dengan memberitahu wanita bagaimana dan apa yang harud dipakai, dummy!"
"Bukannya TV, majalah, film-film yang memberitahumu cara berpakaian, dan bagaimana untuk menjadi 'menarik'?"
"Tentu saja, itulah fashion."
"Bukannya itu yang disebut dengan mengendalikan? Menekanmu untuk memakai apa yang mereka ingin kamu untuk pakai?"
[Membisu]
"Tidak hanya mengendalikanmuu, tetapi juga mengendalikan pasar."
"Apa maksudmu?"
"Maksudku, you are told to look skinny and anorexic like that woman on the cover of the magazine, by men who design those magazines and sell those products."
"I don't get it. What does hijab have to do with products."
"It has everything to do with that. Don't you see? Hijab is a threat to consumerism, women who spend billions of dollars to look skinny and live by standards of fashion designed by men... and then here is Islam, saying trash all that nonsense and focus on your soul, not on your looks, and do not worry what men think of your looks."
"Like I don't have to buy hijab? Isn't hijab a product?"
"Yes, it is. It is a product that sets you free from male-dominated consumerism."
"Stop lecturing me! I WILL NOT WEAR HIJAB!
It is awkward, outdated, and totally not suitable for this society... Moreover, I am only 20 and too young to wear hijab!"
"Fine. Say that to your Lord, when you face Him on Judgment Day."
"Fine."
"Fine."
[Silence]
"Shut up and I don't want to hear more about hijab niqab schmijab Punjab!"
[Silence]
She stared at the mirror, tired of arguing with herself all this time.
Successful enough, she managed to shut the voices in her head, with her own opinions triumphant in victory on the matter, and a final modern decision accepted by the society - but rejected by the Faith:
"Yes!" - to curls on the hair - "No!" - to hijab!
"And he (/she) is indeed a failure who corrupts it [the soul]!" [Noble Quran 91:10]
Subhana'Allah!!!
"Nay! You prefer the life of this world; While the hereafter is better and more lasting." [Noble Quran 87:16-17]
"You are the best community (Ummah) raised up for (the benefit of) humanity; enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong and believing in Allah." [Noble Quran 3:110]

Why She Won't Wear Hijab!

Below is a dialogue of two muslim woman, the one used veil (Hijab) while her partner did not use. I got this article from this site. And I have translated it to Indonesian (Bahasa Indonesia), If you want to read it in Indonesian, just click here.

A Discussion by A.Q. Alidost
A conversation for Muslim sisters:
"I'm so tired."
"Tired of what?"
"Of all these people judging me."
"Who judged you?"
"Like that woman, every time I sit with her, she tells me to wear hijab."
"Oh, hijab and music! The mother of all topics!"
"Yeah! I listen to music without hijab... haha!"
"Maybe she was just giving you advice."
"I don't need her advice. I know my religion. Can't she mind her own business?"
"Maybe you misunderstood. She was just being nice."
"Keeping out of my business, that would be nice..."
"But it's her duty to encourage you do to good."
"Trust me. That was no encouragement. And what do you mean 'good'?"
"Well, wearing hijab, that would be a good thing to do."
"Says who?"
"It's in the Quran, isn't it?"
"Yes. She did quote me something."
"She said Surah Nur, and other places of the Quran."
"Yes, but it's not a big sin anyway. Helping people and praying is more important."
"True. But big things start with small things."
"That's a good point, but what you wear is not important. What's important is to have a good healthy heart."
"What you wear is not important?"
"That's what I said."
"Then why do you spend an hour every morning fixing up?"
"What do you mean?"
"You spend money on cosmetics, not to mention all the time you spend on fixing your hair and low-carb dieting."
"So?"
"So, your appearance IS important."
"No. I said wearing hijab is not an important thing in religion."
"If it's not an important thing in religion, why is it mentioned in the Noble Quran?"
"You know I can't follow all that's in Quran."
"You mean God tells you something to do, you disobey and then it's OK?"
"Yes. God is forgiving."
"God is forgiving to those who repent and do not repeat their mistakes."
"Says who?"
"Says the same book that tells you to cover."
"But I don't like hijab, it limits my freedom."
"But the lotions, lipsticks, mascara and other cosmetics set you free?!
What's your definition of freedom anyway?"
"Freedom is in doing whatever you like to do."
"No. Freedom is in doing the right thing, not in doing whatever we wish to do."
"Look! I've seen so many people who don't wear hijab and are nice people, and so many who wear hijab and are bad people."
"So what? There are people who are nice to you but are alcoholic. Should we all be alcoholics? You made a stupid point."
"I don't want to be an extremist or a fanatic. I'm OK the way I am without hijab."
"Then you are a secular fanatic. An extremist in disobeying God."
"You don't get it, if I wear hijab, who would marry me?!"
"So all these people with hijab never get married?!"
"Okay! What if I get married and my husband doesn't like it? And wants me to remove it?"
"What if your husband wants you to go out with him on a bank robbery?!"
"That's irrelevant, bank robbery is a crime."
"Disobeying your Creator is not a crime?"
"But then who would hire me?"
"A company that respects people for who they are."
"Not after 9-11"
Yes. After 9-11. Don't you know about Hanan who just got into med school?
And the other one, what was her name, the girl who always wore a white hijab... ummm..."
"Yasmin?"
"Yes. Yasmin. She just finished her MBA and is now interning for GE."
"Why do you reduce religion to a piece of cloth anyway?"
"Why do you reduce womanhood to high heals and lipstick colors?"
"You didn't answer my question."
"In fact, I did. Hijab is not just a piece of cloth. It is obeying God in a difficult environment. It is courage, faith in action, and true womanhood.
But your short sleeves, tight pants..."
"That's called 'fashion', you live in a cave or something? First of all, hijab was founded by men who wanted to control women."
"Really? I did not know men could control women by hijab."
"Yes. That's what it is."
"What about the women who fight their husbands to wear hijab? And women in France who are forced to remove their hijab by men? What do you say about that?"
"Well, that's different."
"What difference? The woman who asked you to wear hijab... she was a woman, right?"
"Right, but..."
"But fashions that are designed and promoted by male-dominated corporations, set you free? Men have no control on exposing women and using them as a commodity?! Give me a break!"
"Wait, let me finish, I was saying..."
"Saying what? You think that men control women by hijab?"
"Yes."
"Specifically how?"
"By telling women how and what to wear, dummy!"
"Doesn't TV, magazines and movies tell you what to wear, and how to be 'attractive'?"
"Of course, it's fashion."
"Isn't that control? Pressuring you to wear what they want you to wear?"
[Silence]
"Not just controlling you, but also controlling the market."
"What do you mean?"
"I mean, you are told to look skinny and anorexic like that woman on the cover of the magazine, by men who design those magazines and sell those products."
"I don't get it. What does hijab have to do with products."
"It has everything to do with that. Don't you see? 3 Ladies talk about using Niqab, Hijab or Nothing

Bismillahirrohmanirrohim, Alhamdulillah Alloh is still giving me time to enjoy this morning freshness,

Well, 2 days ago i watched a video on youtube titles "Hijab, Niqab, or Nothing". This video really inspired me and viewed me on how to answer people questions when they will ask me about hijab or niqab simply. If you wanna watch that video, just open this site, tafadhol:

==================================================================

Hijab (حجاب) is the Arabic term for "cover" (noun), based on the root حجب meaning "to veil, to cover (verb), to screen, to shelter". In some Arabic-speaking countries & Western countries, the word hijab primarily refers to women's head and body covering, but in Islamic scholarship, hijab is given the wider meaning of modesty, privacy, and morality.

The word used in the Qur'an for a HEADSCARF or VEIL is khimār (خمار). QUR'AN The Qur'an instructs Muslims to dress in a modest fashion. Surah an-Nur ayah 31 states: "And say to the believing women that they cast down their looks & GUARD their PRIVATE PARTS & do NOT DISPLAY their ORNAMENTS except what appears thereof, & let them WEAR their HEAD-COVERINGS (khimars) OVER their BOSOMS (jaybs), & NOT DISPLAY their ornaments EXCEPT to their husbands or their fathers, or the fathers of their husbands, or their sons, or the sons of their husbands, or their brothers, or their brothers' sons, or their sisters' sons, or their women, or those whom their right hands possess, or the male servants not having need (of women), or the children who have not attained knowledge of what is hidden of women; & let them not strike their feet so that what they hide of their ornaments may be known; & turn to Allah all of you, O believers! so that you may be successful.(Qur'an 24:31)

In the following verse, Muslim women are asked to DRAW their jalābib (when they go out), as a measure to DISTINGUISH themselves FROM OTHER, so that they are NOT HARASSED. "Those who harass believing men & believing women unjustifiably shall bear the guilt of slander & a grievous sin. O Prophet! Enjoin your wives, your daughters, & the wives of true believers to DRAW their JILBAB OVER them [when they go out]. That is MORE PROPER, so that they may be DISTINGUISHED & NOT be HARASSED. God is ever forgiving & merciful. If the hypocrites & those who have the ailment [of jealousy] in their hearts & the scandal mongers of Madinah do not desist, We will rouse you against them, & their days in that city will be numbered. Cursed be they; wherever found, they would be seized & put to death. (Qur'an 33:58-61)

HADITH The hadith (Arabic plural ahādīth) are traditions concerning the practices of the early Muslim community. The Arabic word jilbab is translated as "cloak" in the following passage. Aisha reported that Muhammad's wives went out at nighttime to open fields in the outskirts of Medina to relieve themselves. Umar bin Khattab said 'Muhammad, ask your ladies to observe veil,'[citation needed] Narrated Aisha, Ummul Mu'minin: The Prophet said: Allah does NOT ACCEPT the PRAYER of a WOMAN who has REACHED PUBERTY UNLESS she WEARS a VEIL. (Sunnan Abu Dawud 2:641)

Narrated Aisha, Ummul Mu'minin: Asma bint Abu Bakr, entered upon the Apostle of Allah wearing thin clothes. The Apostle of Allah turned his attention from her. He said: O Asma', WHEN a WOMAN REACHES the AGE of MENSTRUATION, it does NOT suit her that she DISPLAYS her parts of body EXCEPT this & this, & he pointed to her FACE & HANDS. (Sunnan Abu Dawud 32:4092)

Narrated Umm Salama Hind bint Abi Umayya, Ummul Mu'minin: WHEN the VERSE: "That they should cast their outer garments over their persons" was REVEALED, the women of Ansar CAME OUT as if they had crows OVER their HEADS by WEARING outer GARMENTS. (Sunnan Abu Dawud 32:4090) Narrated Safiya bint Shaiba: 'Aisha used to say: "WHEN (the VERSE): "They should draw their veils over their necks & bosoms," was REVEALED, (the ladies) cut their waist sheets at the edges & COVERED their FACES with the cut pieces." (Sahih Bukhari 6:60:282, Sunnan Abu Dawud 32:4091)

Narrated Anas ibn Malik: I know (about) the Hijab (the order of veiling of women) more than anybody else. Ubay ibn Ka'b used to ask me about it. Allah's Apostle became the bridegroom of Zaynab bint Jahsh whom he married at Medina. After the sun had risen high in the sky, the Prophet invited the people to a meal. Allah's Apostle remained sitting & some people remained sitting with him after the other guests had left. Then Allah's Apostle got up & went away, & I too, followed him till he reached the door of 'Aisha's room. Then he thought that the people must have left the place by then, so he returned & I also returned with him. Behold, the people were still sitting at their places. So he went back again for the second time, & I went along with him too.

When we reached the door of 'Aisha's room, he returned & I also returned with him to see that the people had left. Thereupon the Prophet hung a curtain between me & him & the Verse regarding the order for (veiling of women) Hijab was REVEALED. (Bukhari 7:65:375, Sahih Muslim 8:3334)

Asiyah bint Muzaheem

Bismillah,

This afternoon, i am remembering of a woman i really proud to "Asiyah bint Muzaheem".
I inspired of sufferings that fir'aun did to her, these are below some stories and things relates to her and belongs to her, i hope you enjoy and could take a wisdom (ibroh) from theese:

Verses in Al-Qur'an narrates Asiyah:

"And Allah sets forth, as an example to those who believe the wife of Pharaoh: Behold she said: "O my Lord! Build for me, in nearness to Thee, a mansion in the Garden, and save me from Pharaoh and his doings, and save me from those that do wrong" (QS. At-Tahrim: 11)

"Then the people of Pharaoh picked him up (from the river): (It was intended) that (Moses) should be to them an adversary and a cause of sorrow: for Pharaoh and Haman and (all) their hosts were men of sin. The wife of Pharaoh said: "(Here is) joy of the eye, for me and for thee: slay him not. It may be that he will be use to us, or we may adopt him as a son." And they perceived not (what they were doing)"
(QS. Al-Qoshosh: 8-9)

Rosululloh Peace and Bless upon Him narrated:

"Allah's Apostle said, "Many amongst men reached (the level of) perfection but none amongst the women reached this level except Asia, Pharaoh's wife, and Mary, the daughter of 'Imran. And no doubt, the superiority of 'Aisha to other women is like the superiority of Tharid (i.e. a meat and bread dish) to other meals."

I really wanna shout that "I am proud born as a moeslem woman"

If you ask,
why do us dress this way?
Dress like snack covered?
Dress like something burried that walk on earth?
Masya Alloh, this is me, this is my character, this is my personality, this is the way i am, this is how Alloh The Almighty asks us to use, asks us to become, asks us to be.
i want to shout "I really proud to have that i have been a moeslem women"

if you ask me, what does thing that most impresses you?
without wasting time, i'll really shout "i impress that i born as a moeslem woman",
i am not a beautiful one, i am not so clever, i am not rich, i am not a good character woman,
but i know i have to try best in my life, and what i use what am i doing right now are kind of the best things, the best ways for me in how to perform, to appear, to present my self, this is the freedom, this is heaven, this is wonderful, this is miracle, you know that! that i really feel happy to be like this. My mother, my father, and all the people blessed by Alloh who know about how moeslim woman should covered their selves by hijab always support me.

this is a little paragraph of what i am feeling now,
i wrote this article about my opinion after hearing a girls opinion about hijab,

May Alloh gives me and all moeslems woman powers from Him that will always strange us in using this hijab, and becoming like this.

Asiyah,
